To improve and further strengthen the development of the Virtual Teaching and Research Office for Agricultural Economics, promote the exchange of experience in scenario-based and case-based teaching across institutions, and jointly enhance the undergraduate teaching quality of the Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management program, the Virtual Teaching and Research Office for Agricultural Economics, the Wu Yuzhang Model Political and Ideological Teaching Studio for the course Agricultural Policy, and the School of Economics and Management (Business School) of Shandong Agricultural University jointly held a seminar on scenario-based and case-based teaching for the Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management program on June 14, 2025, in Tai'an, Shandong Province. The event was hosted by the School of Economics and Management (Business School) of Shandong Agricultural University.

Over 30 college leaders and faculty representatives from 11 institutions—including Renmin University of China, China Agricultural University, Northwest A&F University, Northeast Agricultural University, Sichuan Agricultural University, Yunnan Agricultural University, Jilin Agricultural University, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Shandong Agricultural University, and Anhui Agricultural University—attended the event.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Liu Zhiyong, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Shandong Agricultural University. Speeches were delivered by Qi Qing, Party Secretary of the School of Economics and Management (Business School) at Shandong Agricultural University, and Professor Tang Zhong, Director of the Virtual Teaching and Research Office for Agricultural Economics, Chair of the Agricultural Economics Teaching Steering Committee, and faculty member of the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China.

The seminar’s keynote reports were divided into two sessions. The first session was chaired by Professor Chen Rui, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Yunnan Agricultural University.
Professor Kong Xiangzhi from the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China; Professor Zhong Zhen, Vice Dean of the same school; Professor Liu Jiafu from the School of Economics and Management at Northeast Agricultural University; Professor Zhang Shouli from the School of Economics and Management at Jilin Agricultural University; Professor Zheng Jun from the School of Economics and Management (Business School) at Shandong Agricultural University; and Professor Zhang Xian from the School of Economics and Management at Yunnan Agricultural University each delivered keynote presentations. They introduced exemplary practices in scenario-based and case-based teaching at their respective institutions and shared new ideas for curriculum development.

The second session of keynote reports was chaired by Professor Cui Bingqun, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management (Business School) at Shandong Agricultural University. Associate Professor Huang Bo from the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China, Associate Professor Liu Yuying from the School of Management at Sichuan Agricultural University, Associate Professor Wang Yijie from the School of Economics and Management at Xinjiang Agricultural University, Associate Professor Feng Jinglei from the School of Economics and Management at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and Professor Xu Jie from the School of Economics and Management (Business School) at Shandong Agricultural University each delivered keynote presentations. They shared and exchanged their institutions’ experiences in curriculum development, focusing on innovations in scenario-based and case-based teaching methods, as well as instructional design concepts.

The conference exchange sessions were chaired respectively by Professor Liu Shuai, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Jilin Agricultural University; Associate Professor Huang Bo, Secretary-General of the Virtual Teaching and Research Office for Agricultural Economics and faculty member of the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China; and Associate Professor Ding Cunzhen, Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at the School of Economics and Management (Business School) of Shandong Agricultural University and Deputy County Governor of Yanggu County, Liaocheng City (for science and technology). Experts at the meeting shared and exchanged insights on three main topics: improving teaching for the Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management program in the era of big data and AI, experiences in scenario-based and case-based teaching, and university-local cooperation to promote rural revitalization.

The meeting facilitated in-depth discussions on scenario-based and case-based teaching for the Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management program, fully leveraging the Virtual Teaching and Research Office’s role in pooling teaching resources and enhancing pedagogical research. Participants also engaged in thorough communication on the development of virtual simulation teaching and clarified the future construction and development plans for the Virtual Teaching and Research Office.
