On May 24, 2025, the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China, in collaboration with Beijing Wuzhou Hengtong Certification Co., Ltd. and the International Organic Club, successfully hosted the "3rd Organic Industry Development Forum." Key topics included: examining the role of organic agriculture in rural revitalization, analyzing effective pathways to coordinate production and sales in the organic supply chain, and exploring innovative models for industry-academia-research collaboration. The forum was chaired by Professor Sheng Jiping of Renmin University, with International Organic Club Secretary-General Qu Li and Deputy Secretary-General Pan Haijun co-chairing.

 

 

The forum systematically discussed the development of organic agriculture. It commenced with an opening address delivered via video by Zeng Bingjian, Party Secretary of the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development.

 

During the academic session, Professor Kong Xiangzhi from Renmin University analyzed global trends in organic agriculture, providing an international perspective.

 

Qu Li, Deputy General Manager of Wuzhou Hengtong, then presented a report titled "Organic Certification Serving Organic Agriculture and Food Safety Management in the Era of Rural Revitalization," bridging domestic practices with international viewpoints. Xi Yunguan, Director of the Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, dissected implementation pathways for organic industry-driven rural revitalization through case studies.

 

Professor Xu Changqing from the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences addressed technical standards for pesticide use in organic cultivation.

Professor Rui Yukui from China Agricultural University emphasized the critical role of soil organic matter in organic farming.

 

Professor Sheng Jiping detailed processing standards and operational protocols for organic products.

 

Li Guangtong, President of the Zhejiang Organic Association, shared developments and prospects in organic storage and logistics.

 

The morning session comprehensively covered theoretical and practical aspects of organic agriculture. The afternoon trade-matching segment, chaired by Deputy Secretary-General Pan Haijun, attracted organic producers and distributors from over 12 provincial-level regions including Beijing, Zhejiang, and Xinjiang. The forum featured video profiles of 40+ participating enterprises and introduced an "Outstanding Organic Product Awards" session. Companies delivered live pitches about their organic stories, followed by real-time Q&A and scoring by judges, culminating in gold/silver/bronze awards that highlighted the sector’s vitality.

On-site displays featured organic baijiu, soy sauce, tea, and detergents, allowing attendees to sample premium products.

The forum’s success strengthened collaboration across the organic industry chain, boosted sector confidence, established efficient producer-market dialogue platforms, enhanced resource integration, upgraded supply chains, and advanced high-quality development of organic industries.
