On the afternoon of April 21, ahead of the 2025 May Fourth Youth Day, the 2024 and 2023 Doctoral Class Party Branches of the School of Agricultural  Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China, together with the First Party Branch of the Third-Year Graduate Class in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University and the Second Doctoral Party Branch of the Department of Land Management in the College of Land Science and Technology at China Agricultural University, jointly held a special ideological-political class, which brought together young Party members from the three universities.

Participants retraced the steps of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visits to Tsinghua University in 2021 and to Renmin University of China in 2022. They also studied the spirit of the important reply letter Xi sent to the students at China Agricultural University on the eve of May Fourth in 2023.

First Stop: Tracing Footsteps of the Leader, Experiencing the Power of Thought

On April 19, 2021, and April 25, 2022, General Secretary Xi visited Tsinghua University and Renmin University of China, respectively, delivering important speeches.

Young Party members from the three universities immersed in the elegant campus atmosphere and reflected on the key messages of speech by General Secretary Xi at Tsinghua.

The Party members then proceeded to the Museum of Renmin University of China, where they visited the exhibition. Anli Yong, an international student from Sweden, served as the guide, recounting the journey of the university. Through a series of precious historical photographs and powerful physical exhibits, the red revolutionary heritage of Renmin University was vividly brought to life.

Second Stop: Studying the Spirit of Speeches and Putting It Into Practice

At the Lide Building of Renmin University of China, Party members jointly studied and reflected on the General Secretary’s instructions from an interdisciplinary perspective. The session was chaired by Yan Xiaobin, Secretary of the 2024 Doctoral Class Party Branch at the School of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Third Stop: Gathering Youthful Wisdom and Building Consensus for Progress

After the thematic study session, Party members engaged in discussions centered around the education campaign on thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Central Party’s Eight-Point Regulation. They explored topics such as field research, academic studies, and youth development. The atmosphere was lively and dynamic, with vibrant exchanges of ideas and continuous sparks of thought.

This joint learning and practice activity among the three universities built a bridge for exchange and learning among young Party members. Through the form of a mobile ideological and political class, it integrated theoretical study with on-site visits and in-depth discussions. Participants widely expressed that they would take this activity as an opportunity to carry forward the earnest expectations General Secretary Xi Jinping has for young people. They committed to striving in their future studies to become youth of the new era.
