On September 13, the Third General Assembly and Leadership Transition Meeting of the China Agricultural Risk Management Research Association was successfully held at Renmin University of China. Jiang Wensheng, Member of the Leading Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhu Xinkai, Standing Committee Member of the University Council and Executive Vice President of Renmin University of China, and Zhao Changbao, Director of the Rural Economy Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, also addressed the meeting.

The conference comprehensively reviewed the achievements of the past five years and heard relevant reports. The third council was elected, with Zhang Hongyu elected as President of the new council. The meeting also deliberated and approved revisions to institutional regulations, adjustments to sub-organizations, and the appointment lists for the Expert Advisory Committee and the Youth Working Committee.
Experts at the meeting noted that over the past five years, in the face of increasingly frequent extreme weather events, intensified fluctuations in agricultural product markets, and rising pressures in biosafety risk prevention and control, the association has remained committed to serving national strategies, supporting agricultural development, and safeguarding farmers' income. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and under the leadership and support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the association has made remarkable progress in theoretical innovation, practical exploration, academic research, and platform building—contributing significantly to the advancement and institutional improvement of agricultural risk management in China.
Looking ahead, participants emphasized that the world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century, and China is experiencing major shifts in its development environment, facing both strategic opportunities and growing risks. In this context, the association must continue to strengthen political guidance by ensuring Party leadership throughout its operations; promote theoretical innovation to help establish a theory system for agricultural risk management with Chinese characteristics; enhance its supporting functions to better serve the industry, academia, and society; and improve internal governance and institutional mechanisms to raise its development quality. These efforts will contribute to building a strong agricultural nation and promoting comprehensive rural revitalization.
The event was hosted by the China Agricultural Risk Management Research Association and co-organized by the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development and the Institute for Rural Revitalization Studies of Renmin University of China.
