Biography:
Tang Jianjun is a professor at the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Renmin University of China. He is a "Changjiang Scholar" Youth Scholar appointed by the Ministry of Education and a Wu Yuzhang Youth Scholar at Renmin University of China. He also serves as the Secretary-General of the Youth Scholar Committee of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Technology Economics.
Tang Jianjun graduated from the Department of Economic Geography at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2014, earning a Ph.D. in Resource and Environmental Economics under the supervision of Professor Henk Folmer, the founder and first president of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE). His doctoral dissertation received the Cum Laude distinction, awarded to only the top 5% of outstanding doctoral graduates, and was nominated for the Best Dissertation Award at the University of Groningen in 2014, as well as the Best Dissertation Award of the Regional Science Association International in 2015.
Tang Jianjun's research focuses on agricultural economics, health economics, and resource and environmental policy. He has led two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. To date, he has published over 40 academic papers in Chinese and English academic journals. As the first or corresponding author, his work has appeared in renowned journals such as China Rural Economy (five papers), China Rural Survey, Food Policy, Journal of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Economics, Ecological Economics, Journal of Environmental Management, Habitat International, Cities, Journal of Rural Studies, Land Use Policy, Environmental Science & Policy, and Science of the Total Environment. In the field of health economics, his research has been published in journals such as Lancet Global Health and Lancet Regional Health – Western Pacific.
His published papers have been cited over 1600 times, with an H-index of 24. He has long served as a reviewer for more than 30 SCI/SSCI journals and has been invited to deliver keynote speeches at international academic conferences in countries such as the United States, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Austria, and Greece.
