Biography:

Wang Sangui is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China. He also serves as the Director of the China Poverty Alleviation Research Institute at Renmin University of China. Wang is an expert enjoying the special government allowance, a specially appointed expert in the talent pool for the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and a former member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development. He is a consulting expert for several international development organizations, including the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Wang has led numerous key projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and major projects funded by the National Social Science Fund. He has published 17 academic monographs and over 160 academic papers in domestic and international journals. His achievements have earned him the First Prize in the Eighth Higher Education Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences), the Fourth "China Rural Development Research Award," and the inaugural "Youcheng Poverty Alleviation Research Achievement Award" from the State Council Poverty Alleviation Office. Wang was also honored as a "National Advanced Individual in Poverty Alleviation and Development" by the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development.
