Biography:
Wang Zhigang was born in December 1965 in Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province. He is a third-level professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China. He is also a member of the school's Academic Committee and the Director of the Department of Food Economics and Management. Wang graduated from the College of Agricultural Economics and Management at China Agricultural University in July 1990. In October 1993, he went to study at Kyushu University in Japan, where he earned a master's degree in Agricultural Economics in March 1996 and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics in March 2000.
In April 2000, Wang was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Policy and Economics at Kyushu University's Faculty of Agriculture. In April 2001, he served as a visiting professor in the same department. In June 2001, he returned to China and worked as an associate researcher at the Economic Research Institute of Nankai University. In October 2003, he became an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Renmin University of China. From November 2006 to April 2007, he was a visiting scholar at Ohio State University in the United States. Since August 2009, he has been a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China. Currently, Professor Wang mainly teaches courses in industrial economics, industrial organization theory, and food economics.
